The demonstrators laid candles and sang songs in the city of Insein recently in remembrance of the killings. They have called for the release of Suu Kyi and their National Democracy party’s detained leaders. In his first address to the media, Mahn Win Khaing, who is hiding with most of the other top officers of the NLD, declared that Pyidaungsu Hluttaw is preparing the development of a federal democracy on Facebook. He said CRPH fans will try “to make the requisite law” so people can protect themselves. This revolution is the opportunity for us to bring together our efforts.

In response to Mahn Win Khaing’s remarks, the military government didn’t immediately respond but ruled it unlawful. The junta referred to the CRPH as a criminal group and told those involved to face charges of terrorism punishable by death. The UN human rights investigator on Myanmar called the global community to stand together against the military junta in the midst of the continuing demonstrations and brutality. In the last November General Election, the NLD earned extensive bribery as a pretext for the take-over, military officials said. The Myanmar Electoral Commission refused the charges of fraud.
