UK regulators approve Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine

UK: On Wednesday, the United Kingdom (UK) approved the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine for emergency use of authorization. However, it becomes the first nation to approve the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. The approval after the recommendations of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The rollout of vaccines is expected to begin as early as next week.

The first set of vaccines will deliver as per the schedule next week. Besides, the companies main intention is to deliver millions of doses in the coming quarter itself. While the company already made an agreement with the UK government to supply almost 100 million doses, said AstraZeneca.

AstraZeneca Vaccine:

Whereas the vaccine comes up with two doses with an interval of 4 to 12 weeks respectively. The process of clinical trials shown good results against Covid-19, with no side effects like headache, body pains, etc. After 14 days of the first dose, the person has to take the second dose for better results, the company added.

On the other side, the vaccine will deliver to many countries because of its low cost compared to Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. The main advantage of the vaccine is it can store at a normal temperature like refrigerators. While other vaccines like Pfizer, Moderna will have to store at -70°C.

Besides, the UK government becomes the first nation to approve the second Covid vaccine (Pfizer) on December 2nd, 2020. It is very useful for all of us and millions of people in the UK, who will get this new vaccine. The vaccine shows more effective, endure, simple to use, and supplied by AstraZeneca at no profit, said Pascal Soriot, Chief Executive Officer, AstraZeneca.

Meanwhile, under the guidance of AstraZeneca, the same vaccine is being developed in India by the Serum Institute of India (SII), under the name Covishield. It is also hoping for the vaccine to get emergency use of authorization by the end of this month.
