Some of Italy’s Ski Resorts are Reopening This Month:

Italy: The public resorts in Italy will begin on 15th February. While skiing and snowboarding activities may be only enjoyed by locals at first. Moreover, if the unnecessary travel ban between regions and localities remains in place.

At present, most of Italy’s 21 regions are classified as yellow. However, the main ski areas are in yellow zones, including Lombardy, Trento, Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, and Veneto, except for the South Tyrol region, which is in the orange zone.

On the other hand, the decision comes because the rate of COVID-19 infection in Italy has been gradually dropping. Although some towns and provinces across Italy have an expert eruption of the virus, coming in them declared red zones.

And the wearing of face masks will be mandatory and social distancing in line will be imposed. Part of regional authorities had expected that resorts in orange zones could reopen with extra safety measures in place, but the CTS reportedly didn’t accept this idea.

Moreover, Resorts in Lombardy is setting to open on 15th February. But the number of skiers is limiting to no more than 30% of the hourly capacity of the ski lifts.

Resorts in Trentino and Veneto are confident of opening on 17th February. Although the main resorts in the Via Lattea, or the Milky Way, in Piedmont expect that some raise will open on 20th February.
