Mexico arrests 12 cops for alleged complicity in the slaughter of migrants. A dozen police officers have arrested by Mexican authorities for alleged involvement in the killing of 19 people in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas last month. Tamaulipas Attorney General Irving Barrios told a news conference on Tuesday. Reports found that at least 12 state police involved in the killings in Camargo municipality. Two of the 19 Guatemalan migrants whose bodies found badly burnt in a bullet-ridden. The burned-out car has so far confirmed by the authorities.
However, it appeared that the detained police officers had changed the scene of the crime, removing bullet casings, prosecutors said. They added that a police report and details provided by the suspects in interviews did not fit phone records and location data of the 19 bodies examined, 16 are males. One is female and the other two so badly burned that they had not yet determined their gender.
